Do you enjoy Sew Fun patterns? Do you have a blog?

Yes and yes? Well, we are delighted to announce we have just launched our new Affiliate Program! You can have fun with our patterns and make some money with your blog, too.

Getting started as a Sew Fun affiliate is pretty easy… all you have to do is, sign up for our Affiliate Program, then:
1.) Sew something
2.) Take beautiful pictures of it
3.) Talk about it!

Show how beautiful it is:
The number one BEST thing you can do – for both your blog and your affiliate program – is: take nice pictures. People LOVE pictures. Remember, your reader isn’t there in person to see what a lovely item you have created, so your pictures must convey both your craft’s beauty and utility. Your pictures need to be bright, well lit and colorful. Additionally, try to show something about the utility of the item you’ve sewn. For example, in this photo, she is showing all the neat stuff the Grab ‘n’ Go Diaper Clutch can hold. The picture says “Look what a convenient diaper bag I am! I can hold all your stuff AND I am tiny and cute!”.

Talk it up:
Talk about what you liked about the pattern. For example, you could say you liked the wrist strap with the swivel hardware or the idea of button a nice big decorative button on the flap is really cute. You could also talk about some unique twist or angle you made on the pattern. For example, this seamstress used a new kind of fabric for the changing mat of my Grab ‘n’ Go Diaper Clutch pattern. She used Heather Bailey’s Pop Daisy laminated cotton (see how nice a shiny and obviously water-proof it is?). What a great idea!

Finally, always talk about what fabric you used. Mention the designer and the color way. People are very visual so if they’ve seen you made something lovely out of the Pillow & Maxfield Whimsy line from Michael Miller, they may very well be inspired to do the same. In this example, our seamstress has chosen: Clutch Exterior – Flower Doodle in lime, Clutch lining – Whimsy dots in aqua, Changing Pad – Whimsy Dots in brown.

See what our friend Belinda created using the Grab & Go Diaper Clutch pattern: a beautiful custom ordered baby gift for the mom-to-be of a baby boy, including a small wristlet for the 2 year old big sister. The Clutch & Wristlet exterior fabric is Kaffe Fassett Paper Weight in Algae. Wristlet straps & lining are Kaffe Fassett Mirage Stripe in yellow.

The Wristlet Pattern is the Camera Case Wristlet by Keyka Lou Patterns.

Belinda said, “I love both of these patterns!”.

Thanks, Belinda… we think you are pretty awesome, too!

Pop Daisy Grab & Go Diaper Clutch

Look what our friend Tiffany has done with our Grab & Go Diaper Clutch pattern! She used Pop Daisy by Heather Bailey, lined with a pale yellow and white pinstripe. The changing pad is laminated cotton from Heather Bailey’s Nicey Jane collection on the front, is lightly padded, and backed with the same yellow stripe as the bag lining.

Awesome idea, Tiffany… using the laminated cotton for the changing pad! It’s much more fun than the boring, white PUL* I’d been using!

See what else Tiffany’s been up to at her shop, Twilltape!
